AC Milan will reportedly sanction the sale of Chelsea target Franck Kessie this summer if their €35 million asking price is met.
The Blues have been linked with a move for the midfielder in recent months, with his future at San Siro continuing to come under scrutiny.
Kessie remains a crucial player for Gennaro Gattuso, but according to claims from Corriere dello Sport, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, Milan would be willing to let him leave during the upcoming transfer window.
Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is currently out on loan at the Serie A giants, and reports previously indicated that a possible swap deal involving the two players could be on the cards.
However, it seems Milan will only look to part ways with Kessie if they are able to sell him, not exchange him.
The Blues are not the only Premier League club who have been linked with a move for the Ivorian. Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were also named as potential suitors earlier this year.
Other central midfielders who would suit Chelsea
Herrera has been a critical player for FC Porto for several years now. His contract expires this summer, and he’d be a quality addition for Chelsea.
Barella has gone from strength to strength at Cagliari in the past two seasons and would suit Maurizio Sarri’s possession-focused style.
Tielemans, who is on the books of AS Monaco, has shone on loan at Leicester City this season, and another big move surely awaits him.
Rabiot will leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expires this summer, and Chelsea could do far worse than swoop for the Frenchman.
Rice has been magnificent for West Ham this season and is among Europe’s most exciting young midfielders. He’d be an excellent buy.
