Southampton are showing an interest in signing Chelsea youngster Martell Taylor-Crossdale, according to the Mirror.
The 19-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires this summer and there is every chance he will move on.
The Blues are yet to agree terms on a new deal and the young striker may feel that first-team opportunities are more likely to come his way elsewhere.
Despite having a big reputation at Chelsea, it is difficult to see where playing time will be given to him, even though a two-window transfer ban could still come their way.
Championship side Bristol City, currently chasing promotion to the Premier League, are also rumoured to be monitoring Taylor-Crossdale’s progress.
Chelsea’s west London rivals Fulham are another club to have been linked with the promising teenager.
Meanwhile, Football Insider claim that Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Taylor-Crossdale, with fellow Chelsea man Tammy Abraham excelling at Villa Park this season.
