Roma make contact with Gonzalo Higuain’s representatives

AS Roma are interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain this summer and have already made contact with his agent, according to reports in Italy.

A story in calciomercato.com, cited on Football London, says that the Italian side are interested in signing the Argentinian striker from Juventus.

Roma could be in need of a new striker as Edin Dzeko has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, with Inter Milan hoping to finalise a deal.

It seems as though Higuain, 31, could be the man that the Giallorossi want to replace the Bosnian once he returns from his loan spell with Chelsea.

After spending the first half of the 2018/19 season at AC Milan, Higuain joined the Blues on a short-term deal until the end of the campaign.

He played 18 games for the London club, scoring five goals, and was an unused substitute in the Europa League final win over Arsenal.

Chelsea also have the option to either extend Higuain’s loan or sign him permanently, however, neither of those have yet been activated and doesn’t look likely to be with Maurizio Sarri, who asked for Higuain to be signed, set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
