Massimo Allegri has reportedly rejected the chance to take over at Chelsea, according to reports in Italy.
As per La Repubblica, as cited on Calcio Mercato, the former Juventus boss is not interested in replacing Maurizio Sarri.
A potential job swap had been rumoured, with the Chelsea head coach expected to join the Old lady this summer.
Chelsea are eager to make an appointment before allowing Sarri to return to Italy, but it does not look like that will be Allegri.
Reports had suggested the Italian was learning English after long-standing links to the Premier League.
This news comes after reports in Allegri’s native Italy claimed that the Blues have made contact with former boss Rafa Benitez, an appointment that would not go down well with large sections of the fan base.
