Rumours about Frank Lampard’s future have not stopped spreading since it was first revealed that Maurizio Sarri was likely to leave Chelsea.
Lampard has still not made any comments about the speculation as of yet. However, according to reports from the Telegraph, Derby have made it clear that they would want a £4 million compensation fee if Lampard does end up leaving for Stamford Bridge.
According to reports, Chelsea are almost ready to make a formal approach for the Derby County manager, who has just finished his first year as a manager, where he was able to reach the play-off final.
Lampard has reportedly been in meetings over the past few weeks with Derby County owner Mel Morris about player’s contracts and new additions, suggesting that Derby are carrying on as though Lampard will still be there over the summer and next season.
Morris and the rest of those at Derby are calm about the situation and were apparently expecting Lampard to leave for Chelsea at some point in his managerial career.
I think it is just one of those things, because of the legend he was there as a player.
