Ex-Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is interested in signing Gary Cahill for Inter Milan ahead of next season.
A report on Sport Mediaset says that Conte would like to take Cahill to the San Siro with the defender available on a free transfer.
It was confirmed last month that Cahill would leave Chelsea when his contract expires, bringing an end to a seven-year spell with the Blues.
Conte, who departed Chelsea in July last year, was appointed as Inter boss at the end of May and is now looking to make his first signing for the Serie A side.
The 49-year-old may need to replace Miranda if the Brazilian centre back leaves the ‘Nerazzurri’, and it seems as though 33-year-old Cahill is one of the players Conte is targeting if that is to happen.
The pair worked together for two seasons at Stamford Bridge with the former Bolton Wanderers man featuring heavily during that time, playing 86 times and being named club captain.
Chelsea won a Premier League and an FA Cup with Conte at the helm, before the Italian manager made way for his compatriot Maurizio Sarri.
