Atalanta are set to extend the loan of Mario Pasalic this summer after failing to negotiate a lower fee to sign the midfielder permanently.
The Serie A side had the option to buy the Croatian for €15million due to a clause in the loan deal, but were said to be hoping to negotiate a lower fee with Chelsea in their attempts to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal.
However, according to Football Italia via La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blues have reportedly agreed to loan Pasalic to Atalanta for a second season rather than insist the Serie A side pay the €15million fee.

The Croatian helped Atalanta to a third place finish in Italy’s top flight last season, and La Dea qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
Pasalic, who made 42 appearances for Atalanta last season, signed for Chelsea from Hajduk Split in 2014 but is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues.
