Chelsea fans react to club personally scouting Roma’s Amadou Diawara

Chelsea officials joined Tottenham scouts in Italy on Sunday to keep a close eye on Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara.

That’s according to Italian outlet Tuttomercato, cited by the Daily Mail, who claim that chiefs from both London sides were present to watch the 22-year-old in Roma’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus.

Diawara played the entire 90 minutes during the narrow loss, with reports claiming that Spurs have been keeping tabs on the defensive midfielder for several months.

The news was quickly picked up on social media, with @TheBlues_ sharing the update regarding Chelsea’s visit on Monday.

Their tweet allowed these Chelsea fans to give their reaction to the club’s scouting trip.

There’s been a mixed response from supporters regarding the Blues’ scouting trip to watch Diawara, but we see it as a smart move from the club.

The Guinea international completed 95.2% of his 62 attempted passes and was one of Roma’s bright sparks on a difficult evening against the Serie A leaders.

We feel as though Chelsea may have joined Spurs in tracking Diawara over a possible move in the future.

N’Golo Kante’s Stamford Bridge future is reportedly up in the air, so we feel as though if worst comes to worst and the World Cup winner leaves the club, the Blues would be in a position to act swiftly.

It remains to be seen if the club will watch Diawara further, but from our view, we can’t find anything wrong with the club keeping tabs on the energetic midfielder.
