Chelsea are back in European action tonight after a successful return to Premier League matters on the weekend with their 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.

Frank Lampard’s Blues are on their travels once again with a trip to northwest France, where they will face Ligue 1 side Rennes at Roazhon Park in Champions League Group E.

Lampard’s side have been in fine form of late and sit on the verge of qualification for the knockout stages of the competition.

Summer signing Edouard Mendy will face his former employers once again following Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Rennes at the start of the month on matchday three.

The Blues had things pretty much all their own way when the two teams met at Stamford Bridge, Timo Werner scoring twice from the spot as Dalbert Henrique was dismissed for the French visitors. Tammy Abraham rounded off the victory shortly after half-time in what was ultimately a comfortable evening’s work for the Londoners.

This time round, Lampard has almost a full squad from which to choose, with only Christian Pulisic ruled out of selection in his pre-match press conference.

We expect some rotation as Chelsea edge towards qualification, with five changes predicted from the team which started at St James’ Park on Saturday.
