Player learning English as he prepares to join Chelsea this summer

It is quite clear that BlueCo are hoping for their investment in youngsters to pay off in the long-term. The Chelsea management has completely overlooked the need for experience and proven quality in recent times, completely focusing on recruiting wonderkids from all across the globe. To be fair, they have been successful in convincing a number of them to joint the club despite their struggles on the pitch.

Sooner or later, they will need to start delivering success though. Otherwise, this ‘project’ could fall apart. One could argue that it has already started.

Enzo Fernandez continues to be linked with a move away from Chelsea. The rumours around Cole Palmer’s future won’t go away either, and the Englishman has not looked himself this season. Those are two of the best signings BlueCo have made.

Another player they have high hopes for is Geovany Quenda, who will arrive next summer. And he is already preparing for his move to London.

Quenda already preparing for move to Chelsea in the summer

Quenda has been out injured since late November. Of course, that is never good for a player, especially one who is just in the early phases of his career. On the positive side, that has allowed him to get a taste of what life at Chelsea will be like from next season.

According to Record (via Sport Witness), Quenda had his surgery in London and Chelsea have decided to keep him in England rather than sending him back early to Sporting CP. When away from the pitch, he spends mornings studying English, while also getting to know the capital city ahead of his move in the summer.

Quenda can prove to be a good signing but there is always a risk

It is hard not to be excited by the prospect of Quenda joining Chelsea in the summer. He is a phenomenal talent, who is already considered one of the best in the Portuguese league at just 18 years of age.

In the past, there had been some question marks over his effectiveness. He had started add that to his game this season as well, before his injury. Quenda had five goals and six assists to his name already.

His versatility will help Chelsea as well. The Blues often feel a bit light on the flanks, despite having so many options there. Quenda will certainly add to it. And there is a good chance that he can become the starting left winger, an area the Blues have struggled to fill since Eden Hazard left. Neither Alejandro Garnacho nor Jamie Gittens has convinced, and that spot is up for grabs.
