According to Martin Arevalo, Panichelli has suffered a serious injury. As a result, the Argentine striker is now out of the World Cup.
It is believed to be an ACL injury. That means that not only is Panichelli expected to miss the World Cup, but it is very likely that he will be out for a significant portion of the upcoming season as well. That should rule out any chances of Chelsea making a move for the Argentine in the summer.

Panichelli could have been a decent addition to this Chelsea team. But now, the most important thing is that he recovers from his ACL injury and returns to full fitness as soon as possible. It is worth keeping an eye out for Liam Delap’s situation as well. The Englishman has failed to adjust to life at Stamford Bridge and has only scored three times since his summer move. As a result, he is already being linked with an exit, which would leave the Blues further short of options.
