Chelsea set transfer price they are ready to let Enzo Fernandez go for

Judging by the events of the last few weeks, it feels like Enzo Fernandez is someone who already has a foot out of the door at Chelsea. After reports emerged in Argentina that there were chances of him leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer, he has not done much to downplay those rumours. On the contrary, he recently admitted that he would like to live in Madrid.

The timing of the admission is certainly interesting. While Fernandez continues to be linked with a move away from Chelsea, Real Madrid are viewed as the most likely destination for the Argentine. It does have a hint of engineering an exit.

Fernandez does have a long-term contract with Chelsea. But in modern football, the length of deals rarely means much when a player wants to leave.

On the other hand, it looks like Chelsea might not be completely against the idea either. But it would take a significant transfer fee to convince them to sanction Fernandez’s move away.

Chelsea set Enzo Fernandez transfer exit price

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are planning to sign another midfielder this summer. Also, Fernandez is not regarded as untouchable at Stamford Bridge. But the Blues would only consider an offer of more than £100 million.

So, it looks like Chelsea want to recoup the transfer fee that they paid to sign Fernandez from Benfica in early 2023. And that is what you would expect. The Argentine has grown as a player at Stamford Bridge. He is no longer just a midfield orchestrator but someone capable of contributing with consistent goals and assists as well.

Who could sign Enzo Fernandez for that kind of money?

Not many clubs are capable of making that magnitude of a transfer move, that is for sure. Real Madrid can do it. But they rarely have, mostly depending on players who are out of contract. That won’t be happening with Fernandez, that is for sure. So, Los Blancos will need to cough up a fee if they want him.

Manchester City are another team that has been suggested as a potential destination. And if rumours of the interest are correct, then they won’t think twice about making the move. That is just the way Pep Guardiola’s side move.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been suggested as a possible destination. And they are another team capable of competing for trophies consistently, something that Fernandez is not able to do at Chelsea.
