Whether you like it or not, it is almost always an eventful day to be a Chelsea fan. In recent times, it has mostly been for things the club have gotten wrong. But this summer, one would hope that the BlueCo board are trying to put it all in place for future success.
Chelsea will need to sign some quality players. That is the minimum expectation. And they are being linked with quite a few recently.
It remains to be seen how many of the rumours circulating around end up materialising into something concrete in the summer. There is reason enough to be positive though.
Chelsea offered chance to sign Rafael Leao
A few years ago, every Chelsea fan would have been delighted to see the club being linked with Rafael Leao. But the hype around the Portuguese winger has faded away a bit over time, that is for sure.
That being said, he is probably still going to be an upgrade on the options Chelsea have on the wings right now. So, it remains to be seen if the Blues end up making a move for him or not.
Reports have emerged suggesting that Chelsea, alongside several other clubs, have been offered the chance to sign Leao from AC Milan in the summer.
Donyell Malen interest emerges
Considering Donyell Malen was struggling to get game time at Aston Villa some months back, nobody would have expected him to be linked with a move to Chelsea. But he has earned the speculation with his performances.
Malen has scored 12 goals and provided a couple of assists in 16 appearances for AS Roma since joining them on loan from Aston Villa. And now, reports in Italy suggest that Chelsea are keeping an eye on him. As are teams like Barcelona and Manchester United.
Marc Guiu wants loan move to Spain
Marc Guiu was highly regarded when he was signed from Barcelona. But at Chelsea, he has become a bit of a forgotten man to be honest.
He has made just 13 appearances for the Blues this season, scoring a couple of goals. And it might be best to send him out on loan this summer.
It has been suggested that he wants a return to Spain. On the other hand, Chelsea might be more keen to see him at a Premier League club. But keeping him at Stamford Bridge seems like the wrong move.
