With Romelu Lukaku heading to Manchester United and Diego Costa now AWOL, Chelsea have a lot of question marks regarding their options in the attacking third.
Antonio Conte wants to bring in at least one or two top quality attackers into the squad and one of his top targets is Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.
It’s believed that Zinedine Zidane doesn’t favour Rodriguez and wants to offload the former Monaco star and will be looking for offers in the region of €70m to sell the Colombian playmaker.
That being said, the Blues could also miss out on the former Porto man as Bayern Munich are ready to enter the race and make a bid in the coming hours for Rodriguez.
The Blues have been said to be preparing a £52m bid for Rodriguez this summer, but that would still fall short of Madrid’s current valuation.
Rodriguez is understood to be interested in reuniting with his former Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, now of Bayern, while the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and PSG have all been linked.
