Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has given club bosses a boost by suggesting he is happy to stay regardless of the Blues’ Champions League status.
The Standard report that playing in the Champions League isn’t the 27-year old’s main priority and that his family are happy in West London.
Hazard has been continually linked with a move to Real Madrid this season but Chelsea are hopeful that offering the Belgian a new deal worth £300,000 a week, a £100,000 per week improvement on his current contract, will be enough to secure his services for the long term.

In an interview, Hazard said:
Of course I want to play in the Champions League, but it isn’t a priority. I hope [the fans] don’t want to see me leave. I’m doing good things here. I’m happy here. Things can move, or they may not move. We’ll see. The public adore me, I love my team-mates, my family are good here.
Hazard moved to Stamford Bridge from Lille in 2012, costing the Blues £32m, and he still has two years left of his current contract.
However, it was revealed earlier this year that negotiations over a new deal had been put on hold until after this summer’s World Cup, where Hazard will be a key part of Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad.
Chelsea face Huddersfield tonight and Newcastle on the final day and are currently two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham who have a much better goal difference.
Hazard is the club’s top scorer this season with 12 Premier League goals in addition to four assists.
