Premier League rivals Manchester City have joined Chelsea by making an enquiry to Real Madrid over a deal to sign Mateo Kovacic.
The Mirror reports that City are considering a move for Kovacic in case a deal to sign Jorginho from Napoli falls through.
Pep Guardiola’s men are putting plans in place as they brace themselves for late interest from Chelsea for Jorginho.

There have been some suggestions that Chelsea and Napoli could negotiate a deal for Jorginho in a bid to make up the numbers in the former’s pursuit of Maurizio Sarri.
Kovacic, who is preparing to face England in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, is looking to leave Real Madrid this summer.
The Croatian fell out of favour at the Bernabeu last season and is looking for regular game time elsewhere.
Chelsea had earmarked the player as a potential target for Sarri, but both club’s interest in Jorginho could be the deciding factor.
