Chelsea looking to secure new deals for Hazard and Kante

Chelsea are pushing to convince Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante to put pen to paper on new respective deals at the club, according to a report from Goal.

The duo have been key players for the Blues in recent times and have started the season in fine fashion, with Hazard currently leading the way as the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

Speculation surrounding Hazard’s future in the summer continued to surface, with Real Madrid believed to have been keen on a move. However, no transfer materialised and the Belgian international stayed put at Stamford Bridge.

Kante, too, was the subject of interest from elsewhere, with reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG linked with a big-money move for the player.

With the duo having enjoyed such a strong start to the new season under Maurizio Sarri, Goal reports that plans are in places to ensure that they both commit their long-term futures to the cause in West London.

It’s stated in the report that Chelsea are willing to break the bank to secure their respective futures by offering wage packets in excess of £300,000 per week.

Sarri, also, is claimed to be playing an important part in the club’s attempts to tie down Hazard and Kante to new deals. It’s reported that the Italian boss is putting assurances in place to suggest that neither player will be of greater importance anywhere other than at Chelsea.

The Blues will be desperate to conclude negotiations with both players before the summer transfer window rolls around, with another summer of upheaval certainly unwanted.
