Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has urged Chelsea fans to show more respect to former manager Jose Mourinho, according to a report on the Independent.
The Portuguese manager saw his Manchester United side pick up a point at Stamford Bridge on his return to his former home.
However, the Chelsea fans predictably tried to wind him up throughout the game, with tensions eventually boiling over following Ross Barkley’s stoppage-time equaliser. Sarri’s assistant Marco Ianni celebrated the strike right in front of Mourinho, resulting in a huge melee on the touchline.

After the full-time whistle, Mourinho reminded the Chelsea fans that he won three Premier League titles with them, by showing them three fingers and then pointing to himself.
Sarri said:
Mourinho here has won and so I think that we need to respect him and to respect everybody who has won a trophy for the club.
I’ve brought the member of staff to Jose to say sorry. I think it’s finished but I want to be sure. We were wrong, we made a mistake. I don’t want to speak about something that I don’t know very well but we made a mistake, we were wrong and we have to say sorry to Jose.
Chelsea dealt with the incident very well and Sarri made sure that Ianni apologised to Mourinho, who accepted the apology.
It was a fascinating encounter on Saturday with Barkley ensuring that Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the season continues.
