Newcastle United have reportedly entered the race to sign Chelsea target Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma.
According to a report from Chronicle Live, the Magpies have frequently sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old in action this season as he continues to shine in Serie A.
Chelsea are unable to sign anyone in the upcoming two transfer windows following a ban from FIFA but had been linked with a move to sign the player recently.
The report states that Real Madrid and Juventus are both in the race to sign Zaniolo during the summer, but the Blues aren’t the only Premier League club impressed by the midfielder, with Newcastle interested.
Rafa Benitez is an admirer of the youngster’s abilities but, as per Chronicle Live’s report, is not yet aware of how much money he will be allowed to spend ahead of next season.
Zaniolo has scored five goals in all competitions for Roma this term and has shone in an underwhelming campaign for his club.
