Chelsea could replace Hazard with Coutinho

Chelsea are one of three clubs reportedly interested in signing Philippe Coutinho this summer, according to Sport, via the Mirror.

The Brazilian has been disappointing since trading Liverpool for Barcelona in January 2018, with supporters unimpressed with his performances.

Despite only being at Barca for just over a year, there is already talk surrounding Coutinho’s future.

A return to Liverpool has been ruled out, but a trio of teams have emerged as the front-runners for his signature.

Chelsea are one of those, with the Blues seeing Coutinho as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard, should the Belgian move to Real Madrid.

It may be that Coutinho would thrive more as the main man at Stamford Bridge, as was often the case at Liverpool, rather than playing second fiddle to the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

The other two clubs linked with the 26-year-old are Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, with a move to the latter unlikely, considering Liverpool’s rivalry with them.
