Chelsea starlet Reece James has suffered an injury while on international duty, playing for England Under-20s against Chile Under-20s at the Toulon Tournament.
The 19-year old full-back was taken off on a stretcher while being given oxygen after suffering a suspected ankle break.
It will come as a bitter blow to the defender, who spent last season on loan with Wigan Athletic, with many touting James to go on to bigger and better things this season.
Several Premier League clubs were also said to be keen on signing James this summer, while those at Chelsea would like to see him push forward into the first-team.
James joins Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek on the long-term injury list at Stamford Bridge, which isn’t ideal with the transfer ban still preventing the Blues from doing business this summer.
