Chelsea have been active in scouting Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and remain interested in prising him from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
That is according to journalist Simon Phillips who understands that the Blues are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on the Georgian’s situation at Napoli and have sent scouts on multiple trips to monitor his progress in Serie A.
The journalist is aware that Kvaratskhelia is a name that is being mentioned by key figures of the Chelsea hierarchy behind the scenes.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Phillips said: “Chelsea are definitely one of many clubs that are watching him closely. I know for a fact that Chelsea have scouted him in recent games, so they’ve done fresh scouting missions on him.
“He’s certainly a player being talked about more and more at Chelsea as a potential target in the future.”
With Chelsea making moves behind the scenes, the club are clearly intent on bringing in the “cheeky” £86million man who is referred to as Kvaradona, with his exploits for Napoli earning him this nickname.
The 21-year-old is one of the players who fled Russia, using a loophole to do so that ensured Napoli bagged his services for a cut-price fee.
Six goals and five assists in 12 Serie A games have followed since, with two goals and three assists in five Champions League appearances solidifying his undeniable impact for the Naples-based side.
It is no wonder as to why the Blues have invested time and energy into scouting the star, with his exploits from the left wing making him an extremely promising asset.
