Chelsea’s 2026/27 Premier League fixtures have now been revealed, giving Xabi Alonso his first proper league roadmap at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea fixtures start with a West London derby away to Fulham on Monday 24 August, live on Sky Sports, before Brentford visit Stamford Bridge on the final day. It gives the campaign a neat derby frame, but the games in between will decide how quickly Alonso can impose himself.
As always, the fixture list is subject to change. Television selections, domestic cups and European competition can all move dates, so supporters should treat this as the first version of the calendar rather than the final one.
Still, the shape of the season is clear enough to start picking out the big dates.
- Monday 24 August: Fulham vs Chelsea
- Saturday 29 August: Chelsea vs Brighton
- Saturday 5 September: Arsenal vs Chelsea
- Saturday 24 October: Chelsea vs Tottenham
- Saturday 31 October: Chelsea vs Manchester United
- Saturday 5 December: Chelsea vs Liverpool
- Saturday 12 December: Manchester City vs Chelsea
- Friday 26 December: Coventry City vs Chelsea
- Saturday 13 March: Chelsea vs Arsenal
- Saturday 24 April: Chelsea vs Manchester City
- Saturday 1 May: Liverpool vs Chelsea
- Saturday 8 May: Tottenham vs Chelsea
- Sunday 30 May: Chelsea vs Brentford
Fulham Opener Gives Chelsea A Sharp Start
Chelsea begin with the most local away day possible, travelling to Craven Cottage to face Fulham on Monday 24 August.
That is a lively start for Alonso. A derby away from home, under the Monday Night Football lights, will quickly test Chelsea’s composure and early-season structure.
The first Stamford Bridge league game follows against Brighton on Saturday 29 August. That will be Alonso’s first home Premier League match as Chelsea manager, and supporters will expect a clearer look at his style.
Chelsea then go to Arsenal on Saturday 5 September before hosting newly promoted Hull City a week later. That opening run is not brutal, but it has enough edge to expose a team still finding rhythm.
ReadChelsea has already looked at how the Chelsea transfer picture has sharpened around Cucurella, Wharton and Morgan Rogers, and the fixture list only adds urgency to that work.
London Derbies Will Shape The Mood
Chelsea’s derby calendar is one of the obvious talking points.
Tottenham visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday 24 October, with the reverse fixture scheduled for Saturday 8 May. A Spurs away game in the final month could carry huge weight if Chelsea are chasing Champions League football or trying to finish Alonso’s first season strongly.
Arsenal away arrives early in September, before Chelsea host the Gunners on Saturday 13 March. Those two games will offer a clear measure of where Chelsea stand against the champions.
The West London derbies also matter. After the Fulham opener, Chelsea go to Brentford on Saturday 19 September. Fulham visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday 10 April, before Brentford come to the Bridge on Sunday 30 May to close the season.
That final-day Brentford match could become more than a local storyline if Chelsea still have something riding on it.
December Gives Alonso A Major Test
Chelsea’s December schedule looks like one of the most important blocks of the campaign.
Liverpool visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday 5 December, before Chelsea travel to Manchester City on Saturday 12 December. Aston Villa then come to London on Saturday 19 December.
That is a serious three-game stretch before the festive period even properly kicks in.
Chelsea then travel to Coventry City on Boxing Day, where they are set for a reunion with Frank Lampard. The Blues go to Ipswich Town on Wednesday 30 December, before opening 2027 at home to Newcastle United on Saturday 2 January.
Four games in 11 days between 26 December and 6 January will test Alonso’s squad depth. It will also test whether Chelsea have solved the balance issues that affected previous seasons.
ReadChelsea has already covered why the Marco Palestra setback gives Chelsea a clear transfer warning, and this schedule shows why depth and defensive cover still matter.
May Run-In Leaves No Room To Drift
Chelsea’s final month is demanding.
The Blues travel to Liverpool on Saturday 1 May, then face Tottenham away on Saturday 8 May. Everton visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday 15 May, before Chelsea go to Bournemouth on Sunday 23 May.
Brentford at home then closes the league season on Sunday 30 May.
That is not a comfortable run-in. Liverpool and Tottenham away in back-to-back weekends could define the final judgement on Alonso’s first campaign.
Chelsea will also meet Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 31 October and at Old Trafford on Saturday 6 February. Manchester City away comes in December, before City visit the Bridge on Saturday 24 April, unless FA Cup semi-final scheduling changes the date.
ReadChelsea has already looked at how Enzo Fernandez’s future remains part of the wider Chelsea conversation. The fixture list makes that wider squad clarity even more important.
Chelsea now know the route. The challenge is making sure Alonso has a squad ready to handle it.
