Chelsea Women have confirmed that their home domestic cup fixtures and any home European league-phase cup ties will be played at AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium from the 2026/27 season.
The club announced a new multi-year agreement for the venue, while making clear that Women’s Super League home matches will be staged at Stamford Bridge from next season. Stamford Bridge will also remain Chelsea’s home for UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout games if the side progress that far.
The move gives Chelsea a second compliant home venue for a calendar that can become crowded across league, domestic cup and European commitments. The Cherry Red Records Stadium has a 9,000 capacity and renews a familiar link with AFC Wimbledon after Chelsea Women’s previous spell at Kingsmeadow.
Why The Venue Decision Matters
The agreement gives supporters clarity before the 2026/27 fixture list begins to take shape and removes one logistical question from Chelsea’s season planning.
Business operations director Nadia Shahrestani said the club wanted an alternative venue that was inclusive, convenient and fully compliant with competition regulations, according to Chelsea’s official announcement.
For Chelsea, the key point is balance. Stamford Bridge remains the headline home, but the AFC Wimbledon agreement gives the women’s team a defined cup base and should help the club manage fixture clashes without pushing supporters into uncertainty.
