Remi Garde respects Guus Hiddink’s comments

During his pre-match press conference, Aston Villa manager, Remi Garde refused to answer any questions with regards to Loic Remy, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Garde had taken questions and admitted his interest in signing Remy in a previous press conference, something that angered current interim Chelsea manager, Guus Hiddink.

Hiddink criticised Garde for his conducted and said that the Aston Villa manager shouldn’t ‘go through a side door’ to try push through a loan deal for the French striker.

Garde has opened up about his actions and admits he was wrong to do so, saying:

You asked me the question last week actually…and then I answered, but maybe I shouldn’t have because I can understand that the Chelsea manager has been a little bit upset hearing me speaking about one of his players.

The Villa boss went on to add:

This week I won’t make any more comments about it. No, this is a problem that I can understand from his point of view. I respect what he said. I won’t make any more comments today about Loic Remy.

Remy had been widely expected to leave the club in January in the search of consistent first-team football, with Newcastle and Garde’s struggling Villa both linked with loan moves. However, the latest reports are now suggesting that the striker has been told he will not be leaving during the transfer window.
