Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte, who is on the verge of winning the Premier League title in his first season in charge, has stated to the Chelsea owners to make a club record move for Belgian powerhouse Romelu Lukaku in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Everton striker has previously played for Chelsea but could not break into the side. Managers who didn’t give him his chance will be frustrated as he has become one of the best strikers in the league and is currently leading the race to win the Golden Boot.
With Diego Costa’s future uncertain, it is key that Chelsea sign a new striker. The Spanish international has been linked with moves to the Chinese Super League this summer, with various reports stating a deal is all-but-done.
Michy Batshuayi who signed in the summer of 2016 hasn’t had the best of starts to his career in the Premier League.
His odd cameo appearances have come as quite a shock for Chelsea fans, but with the club returning to the Champions League next season, Batshuayi will be hoping for more game time.
