Juventus reluctant to sell Alex Sandro after big departures

Juventus do not want to sell Alex Sandro after big name departures from their defence this summer.

For pretty much all summer, Chelsea have been after Juventus and Brazil left-back Sandro and at many points, a deal to bring the defender to London looked very likely.

However, with Leonardo Bonucci leaving Juve for rivals AC Milan and Dani Alves signing for PSG, Juve will not want another big-name defender to leave this summer.

A lot was made of Juventus’ defence last season as it was one of the main reasons why they won the Serie A and got to the Champions League final but it is looking very weak after these big transfers.

However, there is still hope for The Blues, as the left-back has rejected a new deal offered by Juventus which sparked the rumours of a move up again.

In even more twist and turns in this saga, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said that Sandro is an “extraordinary player and won’t be leaving Juventus”.

He added by saying:

Alex Sandro is an extraordinary player who has been much improved since he came and still has a lot of improvement, and together with Marcelo I think they are the strongest left backs in the world.
