‘Not enough’ – Fabrizio Romano drops Trevoh Chalobah to Como update

Chelsea have informed Como that their improved offer for Trevoh Chalobah remains below the club’s valuation.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Como offered €25million plus a further €5million in add-ons. Chelsea want more than €30million before approving the academy graduate’s departure.

The Serie A club must now decide whether to improve its proposal again. Como are also exploring alternative centre-backs in case an agreement with Chelsea cannot be reached.

Chalobah remains interested in joining Cesc Fàbregas’ side. His willingness to move should help negotiations, although Chelsea have shown no intention of accepting a reduced fee.

Trevoh Chalobah to Como transfer remains likely

Chelsea have rejected several approaches from Como during the summer window.

ReadChelsea previously reported that Chalobah was moving closer to a €30million transfer. The latest development confirms that a package reaching €30million is still not enough unless the guaranteed amount increases.

Xabi Alonso has several options at centre-back, while Chelsea are also finalising the arrival of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace. His expected signing would increase the competition facing Chalobah next season.

Selling the 27-year-old would also generate pure profit because he developed in Chelsea’s academy. However, the club are determined to receive what they consider fair value for an experienced Premier League and England defender.

The Trevoh Chalobah to Como transfer has therefore not collapsed. Chalobah remains keen to leave and Chelsea are prepared to sell, but Como must improve their financial terms or risk losing him while they pursue other defensive targets.
