Chelsea offload Kenedy to Newcastle on season-long loan

Chelsea have managed to offload wing-back Kenedy to fellow Premier League club Newcastle United after the youngster came under fire due to inappropriate social media posts which caused offence during the Blues’ pre-season tour in China, according to a report on the Mirror.

The 21-year-old would have been hoping to challenge for a spot in the first team this season but his social media comments have meant that the club want him out on loan for the season and Rafa Benitez has made a quick move.

The Brazilian has been offered an escape route by the former Chelsea boss, who is happy to bring him to St James’ Park as he looks to improve his squad.

Kenedy was also sent on loan last season to Watford but due to various injuries he only managed one appearance for the club in a hugely unsuccessful loan.

Benitez will be hoping that this time things will be different and believes that Kenedy can be one of Newcastle’s most important players.

Benitez is said to have used his contacts at the club since his time in charge of the Blues and this enabled the Magpies to come to a quick agreement for the Brazilian.
