Chelsea are eyeing a summer move for Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, according to reports.
According to reports, the Blues have already met with Hysaj’s agent Mario Giuffredi on multiple occasions.
There is a €50 million release clause in the Albanian’s contract and that could turn out to be a steal if the form the 24-year-old has shown in Serie A can be replicated in the Premier League.
With Chelsea apparently ready to sell Davide Zappacosta after just one disappointing season, Hysaj is considered the perfect replacement for years to come.
They will face competition for his signature though, with Liverpool and Manchester United also appearing keen to bring in the right-back.
Napoli are also scrambling so that they don’t have to sell one of their star players. They are trying to tie Hysaj down to a new contract so they can fend off any suitors, but the money that the Premier League offers could see him force his way out of Serie A.
Hysaj has made over 100 appearances for Napoli since signing from Empoli for €6 million, and has turned into one of Napoli’s most important players in his three years at the Stadio San Paolo.
