Antonio Conte admits he is now worried for his job

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that the constant speculation about his future is starting to worry him, according to Sky Sports.

The Blues have had a particularly disappointing season after lifting the title last May, failing to win any domestic trophies so far. Chelsea are also sat outside of the top four and in need of a minor miracle to secure Champions League football for next season.

A 1-1 draw with Huddersfield on Wednesday night means Chelsea are now in fifth place, two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool with just one game remaining.

Knowing Roman Abramovich’s love affair with the Champions League, it looks as though Chelsea will have to beat Newcastle on Sunday, and hope that Brighton can do them a massive favour at Anfield for Conte to have any chance of staying at Stamford Bridge going into next season.

The Italian said:

I’ve been living with this speculation since the start of this season, since the start of the first game, at that time I don’t listen to the speculation around me and this is the right moment I start to be worried.

The 48-year-old was almost revolutionary when he joined the Premier League, causing multiple teams to copy his system. However, two seasons later, it has become predictable and time seems to be running out for Conte.
