Members of Maurizio Sarri’s coaching team were reportedly left confused by the arrival of Rob Green, who joined the club on a free transfer this week.
The Times reports that Sarri’s back-room team had not earmarked the player as a transfer target and the Italian boss had no say in the matter.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia, who is in Italy this week for transfer talks, is said to have handled the transfer independently.
