Chelsea have reportedly received an enquiry from Crystal Palace over a permanent move for Trevoh Chalobah.
Palace asked about the defender during talks between the two clubs this summer, according to Chelsea reporter Simon Phillips.
The Blues are seeking a package worth around £35m for their academy graduate. Inter Milan and Como also remain interested, although neither Italian club has yet matched Chelsea’s valuation.
Chalobah spent the first half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Selhurst Park. Chelsea recalled him in January after injuries reduced their defensive options.
The 27-year-old went on to rebuild his position at Stamford Bridge and made 47 appearances across all competitions last season. His performances also earned him a place with England at the World Cup.
Chelsea hold firm on Chalobah valuation
Chelsea have already rejected approaches from Como, who remain keen to reunite Chalobah with former Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
As Read Chelsea previously reported, Como submitted an offer worth around £23.3m. Chelsea were seeking closer to £30m plus achievable add-ons at that stage.
The latest £35m figure suggests the Blues continue to place a significant value on Chalobah despite remaining open to a sale.
Xabi Alonso already has several central defenders available, but Chelsea are also pursuing Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix. Talks over the Frenchman may have provided Palace with the opportunity to ask about Chalobah.
A return to Selhurst Park would give Chalobah regular Premier League football in familiar surroundings. However, Palace would need to move closer to Chelsea’s valuation before negotiations could advance.
Chelsea remain in control while Chalobah is under contract and attracting interest from several clubs. A strong World Cup campaign could also strengthen their position before the defender returns for pre-season.
