Chelsea have shown ‘great interest’ in signing Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, according to Sport, as translated by Sport Witness.
The Frenchman was very close to joining Arsenal last season but a deal fell through on deadline day after the Gunners ran out of time to finalise a deal.
Since then, the in-demand 22-year-old has been linked with several moves to Europe’s elite, with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona the latest sides said to be keen on a move for Lemar.
The latter are said to have now made him their top transfer target, after cooling their interest in other targets.

Lemar is currently on international duty with the France squad ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia, which begins next Thursday. He will be hoping to showcase his talent at the tournament, and earn himself a move away from Stade Louis II.
Monaco are still reported to want in the region of £80 million for Lemar, which could be a big deterrent for potential suitors.
