Chelsea Women will play home domestic cup fixtures and European league-phase home ties at AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red Records Stadium from the 2026/27 season.
The club have confirmed a new multi-year agreement for the venue, giving Sonia Bompastor’s side a second compliant home ground alongside Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have already made clear that all Women’s Super League home matches will move to Stamford Bridge next season. Stamford Bridge will also remain the club’s home for UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout matches, should Chelsea reach that stage.
The Cherry Red Records Stadium has a 9,000 capacity and restores a familiar AFC Wimbledon connection after Chelsea Women’s previous spell at Kingsmeadow.
Why The Venue Decision Matters
The Chelsea Women Cherry Red Records Stadium agreement gives supporters clarity before the 2026/27 fixture list takes shape.
It also removes one logistical issue from Chelsea’s season planning, with league, domestic cup and European commitments all competing for space across the calendar.
Chelsea business operations director Nadia Shahrestani said the club wanted an alternative venue that was inclusive, convenient and fully compliant with competition regulations.
For Chelsea, the key point is balance.
Stamford Bridge remains the headline home for the women’s team, which reflects the club’s wider push to grow attendances and visibility. Across the club, ReadChelsea has also been tracking wider Blues storylines, including Moisés Caicedo’s Ecuador record in the Curaçao draw.
But the AFC Wimbledon agreement gives Chelsea a clear cup base and should help avoid uncertainty when fixture clashes arise.
It is also a practical move for supporters.
Cup matches can often shift around tight schedules, especially during European weeks. Having a defined second venue gives fans a clearer picture of where Chelsea Women will play when Stamford Bridge is unavailable.
Chelsea Women are moving into a new era at Stamford Bridge, but this agreement shows the club still need flexibility behind that growth.
The Cherry Red Records Stadium now becomes an important part of that plan.
